How Lily Days works

Three steps, then a minute a day. No tutorial to sit through — though there is one waiting if you want it.

  1. Step 1

    Plant a seed

Pick a plot and a species. A water lily is free and forgiving; a ghost orchid will test you for eighteen days.

  2. Step 2

    Come back tomorrow

Each plant takes one watering per day and ignores the rest. There is no way to rush it, so a turn takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3

    Climb the league

Your garden scores every day it stays healthy. Seasons run a week; the board resets, your garden never does.

Every plant wants something different

The care contract is the whole game. Here is all of it, in one table — or read the full guide for any plant.

Why people keep coming back

One minute a day

Lily Days is built to be finished, not farmed. Water what is due and close the tab — there is nothing to grind and no timer nagging you back.

Eight different contracts

The sunflower drinks in daylight, the moonflower after dusk, the fern every other day and the cactus rots if you are early. Learning them is the game.

Your clock, your day

Deadlines run on the time zone you signed up in, so a player in Sydney and a player in Chicago each get a fair midnight. The server keeps time — device clocks do nothing.

Drawn entirely in code

Every leaf, cloud, firefly and sound effect is generated at runtime. No sprite sheets, no downloads — the whole garden loads in seconds.

Earned, never bought

Seeds, fertiliser, tools and ornaments cost dewdrops you earn by tending. There is no real-money shop and no advertising anywhere.

Installs like an app

Add Lily Days to your home screen and it opens full-screen, offline-tolerant, exactly like a native app — without an app store in the way.

Questions, answered

Is Lily Days free to play?

Yes. Lily Days is free, there are no adverts, and nothing in it can be bought with real money. Seeds, fertiliser, tools and ornaments are all paid for with dewdrops you earn by tending your garden.

How long does a turn take?

About a minute. You water the plants that are due, and that is the day done. The game is built around one short visit a day rather than long sessions.

What happens if I miss a day?

The plant wilts and your streak resets, but nothing is lost immediately — one watering brings a wilted plant straight back. A plant only dies once it is four of its own care cycles overdue, and a revival tonic from the shop can rescue even that. Plants that have already bloomed never die.

Can I water a plant twice to make it grow faster?

No. Each plant accepts one watering per day and ignores the rest, so there is no way to rush growth by playing more. The desert cactus goes further and loses health if you water it early.

How does the game handle different time zones?

Your day is your day. Lily Days stores the time zone you signed up in and runs every deadline on your local clock, so a player in Sydney and a player in Chicago each get their own midnight. The server keeps the time, so changing your device clock does nothing.

How does the weekly league work?

You are grouped with gardeners on roughly the same clock as you and ranked by garden score for a seven-day season. Top finishers are promoted, the bottom are relegated, and then the board resets. Your garden never resets — only the ranking does.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Lily Days runs in the browser. It is also a progressive web app, so you can add it to your phone's home screen and it will open like an ordinary app.

How many plants are there?

Eight species, each with a different care contract — different watering cadence, different time windows, different plot types, and some needing fertiliser or pruning as well as water.
